Meet Emily

Media, Communication and Cultural Studies BA

About Emily

I chose Newcastle due to the instant welcoming and exciting atmosphere that I felt both on and off of campus.

I instantly fell in love with the city and saw it as a place I could definitely call home.

My course motivated me and the people I met were so friendly I never felt ostracised or alone.

Making lifelong friends

I love the relationships I have made through my course and society. They have become lifelong friends and we have made such cute memories such as picnics in the park and recent beach trips.

Accessible city and campus

What surprised me the most is how accessible everything is. From easily being able to navigate a new city to constantly being supported through my studies I always felt reassured, safe and happy.

Exploring placements

Yes, I have been in contact with the careers department in hope to secure a placement between stage 2 and 3. They have been really helpful and provided me with lots of useful information.

I am privileged to be social secretary next year and I can't wait to make more memories.

Societies at Newcastle University

This year I joined ncldance club and it was the best decision I have made. I enjoy the opportunities and memories that are made from a society. I am privileged to be social secretary next year and I can't wait to make more memories.

I also joined the media and journalism society for the social aspect of the course.

Realising my future

I'm hopeful of working in the world of journalism, specifically in radio or TV.
