Hi, I'm Kanupriya, I'm from India. I chose to study in the UK because I was always inclined towards research. Due to Newcastle University being a Russell group member, this motivated me to apply. I also wanted to live in Newcastle with it being one of the best student cities to live in.

The course application process was super easy and convenient. You can get all the information you need on the university website. It was super easy to navigate.

My top tip would be talk to the professors of the course you are planning to study. It will help you to manage your expectations and gain a better understanding.

Staff with real-world knowledge and experience

My course is one of the best places you can study international multimedia journalism. All staff members have real field knowledge and experience in their field.

I really enjoyed being taught by my professors. They provided real-world examples and know what you need to become a successful journalist.

I still remember my first day, faculty members organised a quiz and I ended up being the winner. My first day was very lovely and memorable.

Supportive staff

I loved Newcastle University's supportive faculty staff. Their prompt responses and guidance in the right direction was something I was looking forward to receiving, and thankfully I got it here.

Geordies are a social bunch

The social aspect of Newcastle University is fun. I liked that the student societies organise activities, especially the media and journalism society.

I loved the support staff for University accommodation, ResLife. The team provides a good place to hang out and chill with snacks and drinks. A bonus is that they often throw random pizza parties.

A thing that surprised me was Geordies love for Newcastle United. They treat every match like a festival, it was really surprising and great to experience.
