I have found the social aspect on a day-to-day basis with my fellow doctoral students one of the most beneficial aspects of my time at Newcastle University.
I enjoy learning, supporting and sharing time with other likeminded individuals from other learning cultures. It is excellent to be able to spend so much of my time surrounded by interesting and motivated people.
Challenging myself
I feel fortunate that at 60+, I have the opportunity to continue to learn and develop in a stimulating environment. Merely to enter the campus was exciting and I never lost that sense of wonder that this opportunity was available to me. I thoroughly enjoyed undertaking the EdD and enjoyed the format and the shape of the doctorate. I would recommend it to anyone who plays a part in the education system.
The course can be challenging but what stands out is the supportive environment and working on campus every day is a huge privilege.
