I choose Newcastle University for my EdD because of the quality of teaching staff in ECLS. I had previously completed an MA here and this was an enlightening experience that I wanted to continue.

The Doctor of Education programme allows you to focus on the elements of your practice that most interest you through research. The taught elements of the programme support this and your wider development.

The programme encourages you to explore educational research techniques, the nature of knowledge and understanding, and your own views on both.

Supervisor support

Supervisor meetings are exciting as you get to talk regularly with people who are genuinely interested in you and your work. My supervisor meetings are always enlightening and push me to think in different directions.

Using my research for the future

The EdD programme has given me a working knowledge of educational research techniques and how to apply them.

After my EdD I would like to progress into roles where I can share the findings of my research to improve the quality of educational provision.
