Financial support

I was lucky to receive the Vice-Chancellor’s Global Scholarship (VCGS) from Newcastle University, which provided a £4,000 tuition fee reduction. This financial assistance significantly eased my transition by alleviating some of the pressures associated with studying abroad.

My advice to you as a future student

Start building your basics early. Practice coding regularly, stay curious, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Join communities, work on small projects, and focus on problem-solving, not just memorising code.

Preparing for the future

Through my course, I’ve gained key employability skills like problem-solving, teamwork through group projects, time management, and technical skills in programming and software development. I’ve also improved my communication skills through presentations and report writing.

I participate in the Computing and Technology Society (NUCATS) at Newcastle University. It's been a great way to meet like-minded students, attend tech events, and improve my skills through hackathons and socials.

I plan to do a summer internship whilst studying at Newcastle. I want to gain real-world experience, improve my coding and teamwork skills, and get a better understanding of how the Computing industry works.
