What to expect

You will be living and working in local communities, working on projects for approx 4-6 hours per day during the week. You can use your free time however you wish - exploring and socialising with the other volunteers and immersing yourself in local culture.

You can also choose to add on a week-long guided travel tour to your programme at an extra cost. You can not use this week as part of your scholarship-funded 2 weeks.

24/7 in-country support will be available.

Things to consider

Some projects will be based in more rural locations, so accommodation may be basic and working conditions may be different to what you would expect in the UK. Some projects may be more physically demanding than others.

Each location will have local laws and cultural norms, and it is important to respect these. The codes of conduct of Travelteer and any of it's partners must be followed at all times.

If you are working on a project with children or vulnerable adults you will need a DBS check, which you will need to arrange and pay for yourself.

Fees and funding

Fees start at £32 per day (plus a £184 registration fee) and vary depending on your chosen location and programme. You will be required to pay the registration fee before confirming your programme.

During the week, Travelteer provide you with three meals a day, during weekends they will provide breakfast only (all included in your fee). Transport and accommodation are also included in your fee.

Applicants who meet the GO Global Scholarship eligibility criteria can apply for £1500 for a 2 week+ programme.

Accommodation

Accommodation is included in your fee and will be dorm-style single-sex bedrooms (2-8 beds per room), with basic essentials and bathroom facilities. Alcohol is not permitted at any of the accommodation sites.
