Meet Ashleigh

Education, Communication and Language Sciences PhD

About Ashleigh

I decided to study for my PhD at Newcastle because I had already completed my BA and MA here and I absolutely loved the city. I also had the privilege of working with some amazing staff and I knew that I would have access to fantastic support throughout my studies.

Newcastle quickly feels like home

I love how Newcastle has everything. It is a city campus, so very convenient! But it's also close to lovely beaches and greenery.

Extracurricular activities

I have the privilege of being a PGR representative at my school. I have also been able to gain some research experience working as a research assistant on various projects.

A supportive environment

This degree is a great opportunity to conduct a research project independently whilst benefitting from excellent training and support. I've had the opportunity to develop my research skills and the areas that I'm interested in learning more about. I've been able to work with senior academics and learn from their expertise.

I'd love to have a research-related role in the future.
