Meet Prajakta

Masters of Architecture MArch

About Prajakta

I decided to move here for a better academic experience and to gain a new lens for seeing Architecture.

Why I chose Newcastle

I chose Newcastle University because of the positive reviews that filled the internet. I chose to come here specifically for the nice environment and the friendly community around. I was surprised by how welcoming everyone is here. We can always strike up a conversation with strangers.

I have plenty of good memories, but the one that sticks with me most is from when I newly arrived in Newcastle. I was warmly welcomed by the University team at the airport, and later we were assigned a friendly Geordie chauffeur.

Societies

Newcastle University has broadened my scope through its well-curated programmes and extracurricular activities, such as taking part in multiple volunteering events that help me develop interests in fields that were previously unknown to me. These wide varieties of activities have made me courageous to talk to anyone.

I get involved in volunteering work and sometimes attend free taster events organised by various societies. I have enjoyed quite a few dance societies, and I plan on joining one of them soon. The university has a wide range of activities and events to choose from. I've found this exciting since I get to meet people with similar interests and hobbies.

Why choose MArch

MArch allows you to expand your Architectural abilities in line with the UK standards and has a wonderful faculty to guide international students through the course. This is an ARB/RIBA-accredited course that enhances employment opportunities and provides a chance to apply for Part III to become a licensed architect in the UK.

Unlike other postgraduate courses in the UK that last for a year, this is a full-time taught course for two years.

Future career goals

I see myself working as a Senior Executive Architect in the UK for MNC firms.
