Our Global Scholarships for 2026

We have over 1,000 scholarships available for International and EU Students looking to study at Newcastle University

Applications are open for our prestigious scholarships schemes for 2026 entry.

We understand that financing your studies plays a key role in deciding where to study. Successful international and EU applicants can receive up to £8,000 or full tuition fee coverage. 

We're committed to attracting talented, well-rounded individuals from all over the world. This funding highlights our dedication and continued commitment.

The scholarship schemes have been running for six years. In that time, we've supported hundreds of international students fulfil their educational ambitions.

Find out more about each scheme including eligibility, applications and deadlines below. We encourage early applications, as awards may be allocated early in the application process.

Undergraduate scholarships

Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarships

Award amount: £7,000 tuition fee awards 

Application process: Automatically considered for a scholarship once you have applied for a course 

Scholarship deadlineAwards may be allocated early in the application cycle; early course applications are therefore encouraged  

Vice-Chancellor’s EU Scholarships

Award amount: 25% off the international fee 

Application process: Automatically considered for a scholarship once you have applied for a course 

Scholarship deadlineAwards may be allocated early in the application cycle; early course applications are therefore encouraged 

Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships

Award amount: Up to 50%tuition fee scholarships 

Application process: Applications must be submitted via ourApply to Newcastle Portalunder the ‘scholarship applications’ section  

Scholarship deadline: 26 February 2026 and 2 April 2026  


Postgraduate scholarships

Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarships

Award amount: £8,000 tuition fee awards 

Application process: Automatically considered for a scholarship once you have applied for a course 

Scholarship deadline: Awards may be allocated early in the application cycle; early course applications are therefore encouraged 

Vice-Chancellor’s EU Scholarships

Award amount: 25% off the international fee 

Application process: Eligible candidates will be considered automatically for a Vice-Chancellor’s EU Scholarship award as part of their academic course application

Scholarship deadline: Awards will be allocated automatically throughout the 2025/26 academic year for 2026/27 entry to Newcastle University

Vice-Chancellor’s EU Research Scholarships

Award amount: 25% off the international fee 

Application process: Applicants must have offer of place to study on an eligible degree programme at the Newcastle city centre campus for the 2026/27 academic yr and be international for tuition fee purposes  

Scholarship deadline: Awards will be allocated automatically throughout the 2025/26 academic year for 2026/27 entry to Newcastle University.  

Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships

Award amount: Up to 50% or 100% of tuition fees 

Application process: Applications must be submitted via ourApply to Newcastle Portalunder the ‘scholarship applications’ section.

Scholarship deadline: 26 February 2026 and 26 May 2026  

Newcastle – India Leadership and Innovation Scholarships

Award amount: 10 full fee tuition fee awards  

Application process: Applications must be submitted via ourApply to Newcastle Portalunder the ‘scholarship applications’ section.  

Scholarship deadline: 4 June 2026  

Vice-Chancellor’s Future Leaderships Scholarships – China

Award amount: 25% of tuition fees

Application process: Applications must be submitted through the University’sApply to Newcastle Portalunder the ‘scholarship applications’ section.  

Scholarship deadline: Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis up to the deadline of 29 June 2026
