Campus Nature Challenge – September

The Campus Nature Challenge takes place twice a year (April and September) and is hosted by the Campus Biodiversity Network, in partnership with the Nature Positive Universities Alliance and the Canadian Wildlife Federation.

This year the September: Campus Nature Challenge runs from 18 - 27 September.

How to participate

This year, Newcastle University are participating in the Campus Nature Challenge (September). We are asking colleagues, students and visitors of our campus to take photos or recordings of the nature they find on our campus and submit the findings on iNaturalist.

Any observations submitted to iNaturalist during the challenge will be visible on both our Campus Nature Challenge project and our City campus iNaturalist project that we use year-round for monitoring and measuring biodiversity on campus.

iNaturalist

We will be recording the findings using an app called iNaturalist, that is available on Apple and Android devices. If you have not used this app before, we recommend reading our iNaturalist blog post to find helpful instructions and tips.
