A unique on-campus digital skills conference for your students.

With 900 spaces available, Aspiration Digital is the UK's largest one-day digital skills conference, designed to educate and inspire 16-18 year old students about careers in the digital industry.

The event will take place at the Frederick Douglass Centre, adjacent to Newcastle University's Business School, part of the Newcastle Helix site.

The event brings together some of the biggest and most inspirational speakers from the industry, to talk about the variety of careers available and how to get into them.

Sessions during the event include:

  • Information about creative and marketing roles
  • Engineering and developers
  • Artificial intelligence

Digital is everywhere and careers in digital don't just look like social media content creation or becoming a coder!

Who should attend?

This event is not just for students studying IT and computing. We're excited to welcome students regardless of what they're studying and what career they're interested in, including creative fields, STEM, English, and marketing.

What about school groups?

We welcome school groups to the Aspiration Digital.

The day is split into 3 agendas that run simultaneously. You and your students will remain in one lecture theatre for the duration of the day, apart from scheduled breaks/lunch etc. The speakers come to you. Each agenda features similar content to ensure all students receive a similar experience.

How to book for your school group

  1. Email Amy at newcastle@aspiration.digital with the number of spaces you'd like to reserve.
  2. We'll send out School T&Cs for signing - please read these carefully.
  3. A non refundable £50 booking fee per school will be invoiced to secure your slot.
  4. Consider your travel arrangements. Contact Amy or Newcastle University Business School directly if this is an issue. We are able to support with travel costs for state school group bookings, to discuss this opportunity, follow the link below to find out more.

Important information for teachers

The day's agendas run from 9am until 4pm, please be prepared to stay for the whole day. So much time goes into planning this event and the speakers are giving up their time for your students. Treat this trip like a full day outing.

It's important that you remain with your students throughout the day. Please bring a minimum of 2 teachers.

Teachers will be catered for, however students will need to bring a packed lunch. The cafes on site will not be set up to cater for large numbers of students. We will cater for those students who receive Free School Meals - this information will be requested from you during ticketing.
