Professor Gabriele Vosseberg is Dean Global for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Professor of Accounting at Newcastle University. Before joining the Faculty, initially as Associate Dean for Education, she held the positions of Deputy Director (Education and Internationalisation) and Associate Dean Global at Newcastle University Business School, where she provided strategic leadership for the School’s international agenda.

Educated in both Germany and the UK, Gabriele has over 30 years teaching experience and held a number of academic leadership positions at the University of Exeter Business School and Hull University Business School, including Associate Dean International and Development, Head of Subject Group, College Executive Lead for Corporate Engagement and International Business School Accreditations. Gabriele’s research areas focus on accounting history and higher education management. Gabriele is Academic Advisor to the UK HEURO Executive Committee and holds Academic Advisory positions in the UK and Germany.

With more than 30 years teaching experience, Gabriele has taught at undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA level in modules such as Financial Reporting, Financial Accounting, Accounting for Managers and Comparative International Accounting; and supervised undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.

Gabriele has also had academic responsibility for international programme collaborations and study abroad modules and for many years. 

Gabriele's research interests relate to Comparative International Accounting and Accounting History, and changing accounting systems in transitioning economies such as the result of German reunification.

In more recent years, Gabriele has also developed an interest in research related to Higher Education of Management, specifically policy, management and governance in HE, Internationalisation in HE and Student transitions and graduate employability.
