VIVO Biobank

VIVO Biobank is a national collection of biological samples and data from children and young people who have been diagnosed with cancer.

The VIVO Biobank is the UK’s largest unique collection of tumour, DNA, blood and other tissue samples from childhood cancer patients.

The aim of research carried out using these samples is to improve understanding, diagnosis and treatment of childhood cancers and related conditions.

Samples are all stored in the Newcastle Central Biobank for streamlined access to childhood tumour tissue.

We are supported by funding from:

  • Cancer Research UK
  • Blood Cancer UK

Further information is available on the VIVO Biobank website.
