Artist Uta Kögelsberger and Youngsook Choi introduce their respective works and discuss questions surrounding visual art's agency in the wake of environmental change, in a conversation chaired by Dr Olga Smith. This event takes place in the context of Kögelsberger’s solo exhibition Some Kind of Love: Actions and Reactions to Living on a Damaged Planet, currently on view at the Hatton Gallery through 24 January 2026.

Celebrating its 100 year anniversary the Hatton Gallery has been a vital part of the North East’s cultural landscape since 1925, with a collection of over 3,000 works ranging from the 14th century to today, including pieces by Francis Bacon, Richard Hamilton, and Kurt Schwitters.
