Integrated Teaching of Health Qigong, Shaolin Martial Arts, and Practical Self-Defence Techniques

Together Sparking a New Wave of Community Health and Wellness

At the beginning of the new year, responding to the eager anticipation of Health Qigong enthusiasts and the general public in the London area, the UK Health Qigong Federation, in collaboration with the Sino-British Kung Fu Association, UKCHI Group, and the Confucius Institute at Newcastle University, jointly organized a unique comprehensive demonstration, experience, and promotion event for Health Qigong and traditional martial arts in London on the morning of Sunday, February 1st.

The event featured a strong line up, with several internationally and locally influential experts and masters jointly conducting teaching and demonstrations, including:

  • Herman Wang: Chairman of the UK Health Qigong Federation, Executive Committee Member of the International Health Qigong Federation;
  • Rensong Li: Member of the Expert Committee of the International Health Qigong Federation, Associate Professor in the Physical Education Department of Xiamen University, and Guest Expert at Newcastle University Confucius Institute;
  • Cunguo Lin: President of the Sino-British Kung Fu Association, Chairman of UKCHI Group;
  • Xichen Liu: Hard Qigong Master, World Guinness World Record Holder.

At the event, the experts jointly taught and demonstrated Health Qigong Ba Duan Jin, traditional Shaolin martial arts, practical self-defence techniques, and highly impressive hard Qigong performances such as "Hanging Buckets by One Ear" and "Throat Pushing with Needle-Tipped Rods." By combining theoretical explanations with practical demonstrations, they vividly showcased the unique charm of traditional Chinese health preservation culture and martial arts skills, receiving a warm welcome and high praise from participants across London and surrounding areas.

This demonstration and experience promotion event was open to the community and the public, attracting numerous Health Qigong practitioners, martial arts enthusiasts, and friends from various sectors of society. Through systematic teaching and interactive experiences, participants deeply felt the organic integration of the wellness wisdom of Health Qigong, the essence of traditional martial arts techniques, and practical self-defence concepts. At the start of the new year, this event injected new motivation and confidence into enhancing physical and mental health, improving physical fitness, and fostering safety awareness.

The event concluded successfully in a warm and harmonious atmosphere. Amidst mutual exchanges of well-wishes for a "Happy Spring Festival and good fortune in the Year of the Horse," the participants brought this training activity, which blended traditional culture with modern health concepts, to a perfect close.
