I am from León (Spain) and I have been living in the UK since 2000. I worked in Sunderland University and Northumbria University before joining Newcastle University in 2022. I have a BA in Translation and Interpreting (Spanish, English and Russian) by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain), and I also hold an MA in Fine Art and Education by Northumbria University (UK). Following the completion of my MA, I had a solo exhibition from 18th March 2016 to 1st May 2016 at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art in Newcastle/Gateshead entitled "Fragments of identity".
I teach a range of modules across all stages. I am module leader for SPA4086/4186/4286 (Level D Spanish for Professional and Academic Purposes). I also teach in SPA1071/1171/1271 (Level B Spanish), TRI1002/1102/1202 (Translation Theory and Practice 1), and SPA4087/4187/4287 (Level D Spanish Translation and Interpreting).
My current research interest is the impact and use of Artificial Intelligence in HE, with particular emphasis on its uses in translation and the teaching and learning of modern foreign languages.
