My interests are writing poetry and prose and cinema.

RESEARCH

My research and publications focus on:

-retroactive re-conceptualisation of cultural artefacts (literature, film, music, etc.) through war spectrum

-totalitarianism representation in Soviet and post-Soviet literature and film;

-the Holocaust contemporary mediations and representations across genre (literary, filmic, artistic, photographic, testimonial); 

I hold Rothschild Midcareer Research Fellowship for my research project (PI role): Interdisciplinary Exploration of Stalinist Repressions Of Soviet Jews Across Time: From Digitised Archival Stories To Representation In Soviet Literature And Soviet/post-Soviet Film 

I was a British Academy Research Fellow (2023-2026) with the School of Modern Languages, Newcastle University

I generally teach modules within Soviet/post-Soviet and German Studies. My present RFHE Research Fellown post is research-only
