Law Experience Day (Year 12)

We're excited to be hosting our year 12 Law Experience Day in Spring 2026.

We’d be delighted to welcome your school or college group to campus for our Law Experience Day, an ideal opportunity for students to explore what it’s really like to study Law at Newcastle University.

Designed specifically for Year 12 students considering a future in Law, this event is hosted our experienced Outreach Team and offers a rich blend of academic insight, student interaction, and hands‑on experiences. It’s a fantastic way to support your learners as they begin making informed decisions about their next steps.

What your students will gain

During the day, participants will have the chance to:

• Get a feel for university life at Newcastle
• Take part in an academic taster session led by our Law School
• Hear directly from current students and recent graduates
• Explore our campus, including specialist Law facilities such as the mooting suite and law library

Provisional timetable

Time	Session
10:15	Arrival & Introduction Welcome and overview of the day.
10:30	Applying to Law at Newcastle University A session led by Law graduate Laaiba Hameed, offering practical insights into the application process.
11:15	Comfort break
11:30	Employability in Law An interactive presentation with academic staff and current students exploring career pathways and skills developed through a Law degree.
12:15	Lunch Students should bring a packed lunch.
13:00	Carousel 1 Academic taster lecture or mooting experience.
13:45	Carousel 2 Academic taster lecture or mooting experience (opposite of Carousel 1).
14:30	Campus Tour Led by student ambassadors and/or recent graduates.
15:15	Wrap‑Up & Reflections

Note: timings and session content subject to change. Final details will be confirmed with attendees via email.

Event allocation

Students may only attend this event as part of a school group.

We can welcome approximately 200 students to this event. If demand exceeds capacity, places may be allocated on a first‑come, first‑served basis. If necessary, we will explore offering a follow‑up event for groups who were unable to attend.
