Dr Khalid Medani is a Lecturer in Sustainable Agri-food Business Management and Marketing at Newcastle University. He teaches across a range of undergraduate subjects, including agri-food business management, marketing, consumer behaviour, strategic marketing, and business management. He also supervises undergraduate dissertations and consultancy projects, supporting students in applying academic knowledge and analytical skills to address real-world challenges facing the agri-food sector.
Khalid holds a PhD in Agriculture and Rural Development from Newcastle University, an MSc in Agri-food Marketing from the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Zaragoza (CIHEAM-IAMZ), Spain, and a BSc in Agricultural Economics from Fayoum University, Egypt. His research lies at the intersection of food marketing, consumer behaviour, and sustainable agri-food systems. His work explores consumer and stakeholder perceptions of emerging food technologies, trust in food systems, food choice, and the social dimensions of sustainable agri-food innovation. He has experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including survey design, interviews, systematic literature reviews, and multivariate data analysis.
Through both his teaching and research, Khalid aims to bridge academic knowledge with practical challenges, contributing to evidence-informed decision-making that supports more sustainable, resilient, and consumer-oriented agri-food systems.
