Dr Akansha Singh
RSS Core Methodologist
Dr. Akansha Singh is working as a Core Methodologist for the NIHR Research Support Service (RSS). She brings a strong academic foundation and a proven track record in advancing health and social science research through robust statistical methodologies. Her work focuses on designing and implementing complex analytical frameworks that underpin high-quality, evidence-based decision-making in healthcare, education, and social policy. In her NIHR RSS role, Akansha provides methodological leadership and statistical support to researchers across the UK, ensuring rigorous design, analysis, and interpretation of health studies.
Her expertise spans quantitative data analysis, biostatistics, mathematical demography, mortality and health studies, and multilevel modeling, underpinned by advanced methodological rigor. Akansha has extensive experience with clinical and educational randomised controlled trials, as well as large-scale population, social, and behavioral datasets such as Demographic Health Surveys and census data. She applies diverse sampling designs and estimation techniques using tools including SAS, R, SPSS, STATA, MLwiN, and Excel.
Akansha’s research contributions include projects with the NIHR, Education Endowment Foundation (UK), Longitudinal Ageing Study in India, and Global Adult Tobacco Survey, alongside collaborations with leading institutions such as Harvard School of Public Health, WHO, and CDC Atlanta. Her recent work explores the appropriate use of quantitative methods in health and education studies and the application of machine learning techniques to public health data, driving innovation in evidence-based policy and practice.
