Lainey is the Communications Manager for the Faculty of Medical Sciences. Lainey is responsible for developing and delivering the Faculty's Communications Strategy to raise the profile of the entire Faculty to a range of stakeholders.

Prior to joining Newcastle University, Lainey worked as a Science Communications senior adviser for Natural England for over 18 years and has worked in marketing and communications roles throughout her career. After studying a BA (Hons) in Marketing Management, Lainey then went on to take a MA in Science Communications whilst working for Natural England's Chief Scientist.
