Dr Danielle Notice
Research Associate in Statistics
Danielle is an Impact Associate with NU Solve in the School of Mathematics, Statistics & Physics at Newcastle University.
She completed her PhD in Statistics and Operations Research at the STOR-i Centre for Doctoral Training, Lancaster University, in 2025. Her thesis, Methods for Algorithm Selection for Combinatorial Optimisation Problems, was undertaken in partnership with Tesco and supervised by Ahmed Kheiri and Nicos Pavlidis.
Her research interests span machine learning and combinatorial optimisation, with a particular focus on dimensionality reduction, supervised learning, and algorithm selection. Since joining the NU Solve team, her research portfolio has expanded through collaborative applied projects, including work on diagnostic accuracy studies.
