Staff Profile
Background
Marju obtained an MA (Hons) in Psychology and Linguistics from the University of Edinburgh, followed by a PhD in Linguistics from UCLA. Marju's broad research interests lie in sentence processing and experimental approaches to syntax-pragmatics interface phenomena. Her PhD research examined the syntax and pragmatics of contrastive topic structures of her native Estonian, and the online processing of information-structural contrast in the presence of syntactic cues.
Marju's teaching experience spans theoretical and applied linguistics, psycholinguistics, psychology, research methods and design, and statistics.
