I have worked in the School of Computing since 2005, starting as a Teaching Fellow on the HEFCE funded Centre for Excellence in Learning project: Active Learning in Computing. I was appointed to Lecturer in 2012. I am a Senior Fellow of the HEA and became the Director of Education for the School in 2017. I was appointed Senior Lecturer in 2018 and Associate Dean (Undergraduate) SAgE Faculty in January 2019. I was Deputy Head of the School of Computing from January 2022 - March 2025 and was promoted to Reader in Computer Science Education in August 2023.
Areas of expertise: Software Engineering Competency, Technology Enhanced Learning, Assessment and Feedback in Computing, Computer Science teaching in Schools.
