Our new Graduate Employment and Work Experience Directory

The Careers Service is pleased to announce the launch of our new Graduate Employment and Work Experience Directory. Our helpful tool shows you where previous students have worked and the types of roles they secured. You can search by school or subject to get inspiration from people with a similar education background to you.

The data is drawn from HESA’s Graduate Outcomes survey, which collects information from graduates of all UK universities 15 months after completing their studies. We have anonymised this data and presented it in an accessible format, making it easy for you to explore employment trends.

Through this directory, you’ll be able to see which employers our former students have been working for, including those who are self-employed, as well as their job titles, and we’re proud to be the first (and currently only) UK university to present the data in this new and accessible way.

The work experience section of the directory allows you to search for internships and placements our students have completed. This includes the ability to explore all of the NCL internships we’ve arranged with local businesses and university departments. It’s a great resource to get an idea of local organisations who’ve benefited from hiring Newcastle University students.

The placement data covers all students who’ve done a placement as an official part of their degree with us. As placements are an option on most of our undergraduate programmes there’s an extensive range of examples to search through! Try looking at school level, not just individual course to get a broader scope of ideas.
